November at the Farm

The Farm Market is Closed for the Season.

I will continue the blog so you can see what farmers do in the winter.

Lots of people ask us what we do in the winter so I'll keep you updated.

Our family just got back from a cattle show in Louisville. It is called the North American Livestock Show. We took Kyle's bred heifer to the show. He worked really hard for 5 days washing, feeding, watering and caring for his animal. She placed really well in the show and she now is going to join the others in the pasture. She is due to have her calf in the spring. Kyle will be updating the blog with pictures of the birth and her calf.

Kara was named the Michigan Shorthorn Lassie Queen for 2009 -2010. We raise Shorthorns and she will be representing the breed in Michigan and at the Nationals. Some of the meat that we sell at the farm market is from Shorthorn cows. The quality is excellent and taste is awesome.

Bosserd Family Farm is Closed for the Season - Reopening April 1st, 2010

We want to take the opportunity to thank you for your business this past year. With your support we can continue farming and growing the things that we love. I will continue to update the blog for the winter so you can see what we do when there is snow on the ground.

Ethan and Kyle are working with their animals for next year and Kyle loved carving pumpkins with his Dad on Halloween.

Fall on the Farm

Fall is the best time of the year.

Bosserd Family Farm

Pumpkins, Mums, Straw Bales, Indian Corn, Squash, Corn Stalks, and Gourds

Fall is here and it is time to bring the kids and come enjoy the farm.

Pumpkins, Mums, Indian Corn, Corn Stalks, Straw Bales and Gourds are all here at the farm. We have been very busy all summer taking care of these wonderful gifts from God and the harvest begins.

Dave will begin soybean harvest in a couple of weeks and we will be harvesting corn in October. Along with that we will be hosting school tours, day cares and preschools. We love the kids and it is a treat to be able to tell the kids where their food comes from and show them how we care for animals on our farm.

The weekends are filled with a hayride, u-pick pumpkins, a straw maze, a corn maze, straw climbs, a cow train and a petting farm.

We have a package for children of $8 and it includes any size pumpkin from the field.

If you are a school, preschool or day care and would like to visit our farm please call the farm and make a reservation. Tours include: Hayride, Pumpkin and all the activities. It is $4.00/child and teachers are free.

If you want to make a group reservation of 10 or more: Tour includes: Hayride, any size pumpkin, corn maze, and all activites. $7.00/person
